Casque Estate Circular. From the square in Fettercairn, pass the school and distillery, onto a country road, then farm tracks into woods to enter the estate. Pass in front of Fasque House and Chapel then exit the estate, pass the former stables, now converted into apartments.

Maud - Strichen . 

A level walk on the Formartine and Buchan Way. A distance of 6 miles. A short walk may be available and full details will be provided following the recce taking place.

Wednesday August 19th

Johnshaven to Gourdon. (“The fish and chip event”).

Grid Ref. NO796670Johnshaven to Gourdon via Benholm hamlet.Starting at Johnshaven, we take the coastal path north to Seahouses, where we turn west along Beedies Brae towards Mill of Benholm. There is a gentle climb up the old highway to Gourdon Hill and a gentle descent down towards Inverbervie. From Inverbervie we take the coastal path to Gourdon, and round the walk off with the bonus of  Fish and Chips at the Quayside Restaurant, Gourdon!  Long Walk : 7 miles, Short Walk available

Long to Aboyne via Falls of Dess.hort - Dess Wood to Aboyne.

Long walk. NO590997. 6 miles. Ascent 40 m.

Start at car park in Kincardine. Roads, tracks, and path climbing to the Falls. Then down to join Deeside way to Aboyne.

Short walk. NJ567001. 3 miles. Negligible ascent.

Wednesday October 1st

AdenPark, Stuartfield, Aikey Brae Circular.

Long Walk: Starting at Aden Park, south to Stewartfield, northwest to North Windhill, northeast past Aikey Brae (stone circle) onto and along the old Formartine and Buchan railway line to finish at the Happy Plant (or vice versa). Based on the Mac Walks No. 154.

7.5 Miles. Total ascent 180m. 

Alternative Long Walk: As above but leangthe old Formartine and Buchan railway line at Mavisbank and going through Old Deer and finishing at Aden Park (or vice versa).

6.5 Miles. Total ascent 160m.  

Short Walk: Pitfour Lake and Estate. Starting at the Happy Plant, along the old Formartine and Buchan railway line, into the estate at South Lodge, round the south of the Lake, up to Drinnies Wood and return via Chapel Park Farm and Cartlehaugh to finish at Aden Park (or vice versa).

5 Miles. Total ascent 120m. Could be shortened by 0.5 mile, by starting at Aden Park.

River Don. Persley walled garden to Seaton park and return.

Starting from the walled garden in Persley we’ll make our way along the Don to Seaton Park,

crossing the Brig o’ Balgownie and returning along the path at the opposite side of the Don.

Kincorth Hill nature reserve and Loriston Loch.

A circular local walk around Kincorth Hill, with the option to walk on to

 Loriston Loch. More information will be provided nearer the time.
