Cambus o'May Quarries LM44 (NO370958)

Start in Ballater walk on old Deeside railway line to the cheese factory then up a track to the quarries from which many Ballater buildings came. Good views over the Dee valley. Through the birch woods to Tullich and return to Ballater 7 miles. Short walk available.

Portsoy to Cullen LM29 (592662)

From the car park in Portsoy the coastal trail is followed to Sandend and up to Findlater Castle then on to Cullen Harbour. Care is required in the vicinity of the castle where the footpath is a bit tricky in places.Distance 6.5 miles. Short walk available.

Burn o'Vat and Culblean Circuit LR44 (NO459987)

From Dinnet through the woods and open field to Loch Kinnord and the Visitor Centre at Muir of Dinnet. Path to the Burn o'Vat towards the Vat. High above the Vat the walk turns and gently descends towards Loch Kinnord. The walk continues down the other side of the loch and a return to Dinnet 8 miles. Short walk – from Dinnet a circuit of Loch Kinnord 4 miles.
